Role Overview


We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Territory Sales Manager to join our team in Bhagalpur, Bihar. This role plays a critical part in expanding our footprint in the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sector, ensuring dealership success, and increasing market share.


The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales operations, maintaining strong dealer relationships, and driving revenue growth within the assigned region. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in automotive sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Job Purpose


The primary objective of this role is to enhance sales performance and dealer engagement within the assigned territory. The Territory Sales Manager will drive growth by implementing effective sales strategies, managing dealership operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.


This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive industry, sales tactics, and market trends. The successful candidate will work closely with dealerships, guiding them on how to improve their sales processes, increase product visibility, and effectively promote LCV models.


Financial & Non-Financial Responsibilities


Financial Responsibilities:


Manage a revenue/budget of ₹10-12 Crores


Ensure profitable sales growth through strategic planning and execution



Non-Financial Responsibilities:


Manage vendor relationships to ensure seamless operations


Oversee the product portfolio and provide insights for product development and marketing



Key Responsibilities


1. Product Knowledge & Training


Develop in-depth knowledge of all LCV models, including specifications, benefits, and competitive advantages.


Conduct training sessions for sales representatives and dealership staff to enhance their product knowledge.


Ensure that sales teams can effectively communicate vehicle features and benefits to potential customers.


Stay updated on new vehicle launches and technological advancements in the automotive industry.



2. Market Analysis & Strategy Development


Perform market research to understand customer preferences and purchasing behavior.


Track and analyze competitor activities, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential market opportunities.


Utilize sales data to assess market performance and develop data-driven sales strategies.


Provide market feedback to senior management, helping shape future business decisions.



3. Dealer Management & Relationship Building


Establish and maintain strong relationships with dealerships to enhance sales performance.


Support dealerships in maximizing sales opportunities through collaborative strategies.


Address dealership concerns promptly and ensure smooth operations.


Develop and execute promotional campaigns to boost sales and increase product visibility.



4. Sales Performance & Territory Management


Oversee sales activities within the assigned territory.


Implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets.


Lead and guide sales representatives, ensuring they achieve their individual and team objectives.


Conduct regular sales meetings to assess performance and provide strategic direction.


Set and monitor individual and dealership sales targets, ensuring consistent progress.



5. Administration & Reporting


Prepare and maintain comprehensive sales reports, tracking performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.


Monitor inventory levels at dealerships, ensuring a steady supply of vehicles.


Work closely with marketing and finance teams to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.



6. Team Development & Leadership


Recruit, train, and mentor sales representatives and dealership personnel.


Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance the effectiveness of the sales team.


Conduct performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and career development guidance.


Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Implementing dealer motivation schemes to boost sales performance.


Expanding the secondary network to enhance market reach.


Determining dealership manpower requirements to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience Required


Education:


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred)


MBA in Sales/Marketing or related field



Experience:


3 to 6 years of experience in the automotive industry.


Prior experience in commercial vehicle sales is highly preferred.


A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
